Heat Waves, Food Security & Rebellious Hope
Whelp. As expected, bacon sold out in a flash. Thanks everyone for yet another overwhelming show of support for our tiny family farm. We really appreciate it.
Happily temperatures have settled into just good old fashioned HOT, and everyone on the farm is feeling grateful.
This past week has been a worrisome one. It's tough, especially as a Mother, to recognize that the impacts of climate change won't just be in my kids' far flung future, but right now - close to home.
But you know me. I'm always looking for that silver lining and am a firm believer in never letting a crisis go to waste. ( Aside from the bonus that my laundry dries in a snap on the line - it's the little things sometimes, people.) This is a great opportunity for those of us who hope for change to pressure our governments and corporations to take the big steps necessary towards healing.
Covid has shown us what we can do as a planet with enough will. Imagine if we applied that force of will to healing? Kinda exciting, am I right?
We have everything we need to fix this. We simply have to decide.
In the meantime, I'm on baby watch this week - bacon seeds are imminent. Can't think of a more hopeful way to spend my week.
In hope and solidarity -
As always,
Best,
Stacey
